Veneers

Dental veneers are thin shells that are fitted to the front surface of your teeth to improve your appearance. They are used to correct a variety of problems such as stains, gaps, crooked teeth and more. Not all veneers are the same; they can be made with different techniques and different materials.

Composite resin veneers:

They are made from the same materials used for fillings. They can be done with a direct technique while you are on the dental chair or indirectly fabricated in a lab then fitted to your teeth.

Porcelain veneers:

They are made of pure porcelain. They can only be fabricated in a lab then fitted to your teeth. They require much less preparation and reduction to your teeth than crowns and bridges.

Composite veneers vs Porcelain veneers

Composite resin veneers are less expensive and quicker than porcelain veneers, since they can be completed in one office visit.

Composite resin veneers are less durable than porcelain veneers but they are easier to fix and repair in case of chipping or a breaking.

Composite resin veneers typically cannot be as shiny as porcelain veneers, They are also more prone to staining and discoloration from food and beverages than porcelain.
